24/03/13 Production Log 

This week i have been working on my music video so i can meet my deadline on Thursday and complete this work in this last week. I had to go out after school to film some more shots and scenes so i can make and improve the music video so then we can get a better mark.  When it came to the editing we had to edit within one day which was on wednesday. On friday we had to export the work into LQ and HQ then upload the LQ music video onto youtube. 

The work fits in with my production schedule because we have met all of our deadlines and had produced a good piece of music video. The last few weeks we have been working on making a music video, and the song we had to find and work with is from a friend called robert who gave us the song.

There were no problems during this week because we only needed to edit the the music video plus the extra footage we had got in that very week.

This would be the last week of the production log and the last week of finishing the music video plus uploading it to youtube.

17/03/13 Production log

 Production log 

This week i have been working on the editing for three day and had nearly finished the editing on Wednesday evening after school but the teacher that was supervising he had to leave, so unfortunately i had to leave with only a few bits left to do. I have not been in on Thursday and Friday because i have been feeling very unwell and poorly. 

The first finished draft of the music video was meant to be done for Thursday and my partner managed to finish it, but only had two or three shots left to put in. The production schedule is still all good although i have been unwell. 

There was no problem really but when i wasn't in it was a bit hard for my partner doing some of the work by himself. When my partner Halil had told me what the teachers had told him about our music video and how to make it look good and how to get good marks, so then we had to go out and film some of the scenes again.

Next week we will film some shots again that we have to improve and then edit the work and have the finished music videos by Thursday last lesson.

Production log

This week Halil and I have been editing the filming we had to do over the half term. Over all we are half way from finishing the editing of the music video. I have been learning a lot about the new software final cut express which allows us to a lot more than the old software imovie. The new software final cut express is hard to work with but at this stage now I know the basic of the programme.

As my job role is an editing manager I know how the video will look like and plus my role is very important in this stage where we are right now. The schedule timing of the work is fit in perfectly because we are getting to our deadlines which are a good thing for us so far. Overall the work is at a good standard because on Friday my teacher had checked how the music video were going so far and the feedback we had got is that the work is looking good.

There are no problems at this stage right now in the editing stages but we have been having problems with our imac which is messing around with us by the screen turning black but our teacher says just press the button behind the imac and then it should turn on.

Next week we have to finish off the first draft of the work so we can point out what we need to do to make it look professional and good. Then if we do need to film more footage to make our music video look good and professional then they will make us film over the weekend. 

production log 03/03/13

Production Log 

This week I have started to edit the film we have already done during the week before in the half terms, and also we have finished off filming the rest of the work which is due in tomorrow the 04/03/13. The only filming we had to do in the school was the green screen shots which was quite easy to do in my point of view because all the cast that are in our music video will only need to be dancing and show that they are having a good time.

This all fits in my production schedule because we have met the deadlines that we have been given by our teachers. All the filming we have done is due tomorrow which we have met and the editing deadlines are in 2 weeks time march the 21st 2013 which also I think we are track because of the stages we are at now. 

We had a problem when one of our actress couldn’t come to the days we could film so we had to bend the script by having another girl building a relationship but in the end worked out fine. Also we had a funny feeling with one of our locations because in a way the location wasn’t really needed for the music video also it would make it all confusing for the audience to watch. So we solved the problem by having a new location which was in the estates.   

The following week I think we will have to edit all the work we have done and make it look effective for the audience to watch.

What i have contributed in this piece of music video for this week is to just film at the locations we have chosen to do in the half term because I have the job role of being the camera man and editing management. We had filmed at most of our locations but the party shots was hard to film because of the lighting in the music video which was quiet hard to do. 

This all fits in with the production schedule but it was hard because of the casts being available for the music video but we had pulled it off so it was all good. The overall idea of the filming the music video was to just have all the shots and scene of the ones that we have planned to film in the half term which involves my job which is being the camera man and editing management. 

There were some problems like it was very difficult to get hold of some of the cast members and plus having some of the cast member not being availble for the filming dates. Then my partner and i had to reschedule the days when we would have to film and we managed to do so when it came to the filming we had filmed most of the shots and shots we needed. 

The plans for the following week are to just edit the filming we have to and film the shots and scenes we need for the music video which is the green screen. The green screen scene we have got permission to use and all it is we need to do is to get the cast members to be free all week to let them know that we will need them when we film the shot during one part of that week.

This week I have given all the work in that was set last week by my teacher Mr Clarke, like locations, job roles, permission of cast members if they can be in my music video and risk assessment which is about the health and safety sheet which we would try and be careful of. Also I and Halil had to start making a filing script which is based on what will happen in each shot well as each scene along with the filming that we will have to do over the half term.

 All the work will come together by the work that my partner and i had to finish and give in the work our teacher gave us for a plan of the music video, they wore the job roles, risk assessment sheet, location, cast waives and call sheet. After it had fit with our production schedule because after giving in the work plus the filming script we also had to do, now all we had to do is just to film the music video at each location and enjoy the fun of it. My job role in this music video is camera man and editing management which means i will mainly do the all the filming and most of the editing because I have more experience than Halil in the media subject.

There wasn't any problems for me getting the first pieces of work in and for the second one was good as well because all the work and filming script had to be finished on Friday which was alright for my partner and I cause we had done some of the work already so all it was to finish it which we did. 

 My plans for the following week is to just get the filming done on the days we have plan and hope nothing goes wrong or have any problems when it comes to filming the music video. The locations we have chosen to film in was basement shisha lounge, rendezvous and at Halil’s house, plus we have also planned to use a green screen which would be good because you would just see Halil and girls dancing on a plain white back ground.
